J. Scott Blase, O.D.

Dr. J. Scott Blase attended Penn State University and recieved his Doctor  of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Blase was the base optometrist at Brooks AFB for three years in San Antonio before opening Crossroads Vision Care in 1978  in Converse, Texas. Dr. Blase is a therapeutic optometrist and has also attained the designation of glaucoma specialist from the State of Texas. Dr. Blase has the expertise to fit all styles of contact lenses including gas permeable, mulitfocal, and astigmatic contact lenses. He provides comprehensive vision examinations as well as treating minor injuries and illnesses of the eyes. Dr. Blase is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Texas Optometric Association. He is also a member of the Converse Lions Club and a past Boysville Professional Angel. He is an avid golfer and enjoys swimming as well as spending time with his family. Dr. Blase firmly believes that every patient deserves the highest quality vision examination and ensures that his office attains the latest technology available. He takes pride in knowing his staff is extremely well trained and experienced.

Linda S. Haidar, O.D.

Dr. Linda Haidar is a native of southern California and a graduate of the University of California Irvine with a bachelor of science degree in bilogical sciences. She received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry. Dr. Haidar received additional professional training through internships at facilities such as the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, the Veterans Administration Hospital in Los Angeles, and the Department of Rehabilitation in Las Vegas. Dr. Haidar is a member of the College of Optometrists  in Vision Development, and also the Fellowship of Christian Optometrists. She specializes in vision therapy to insure students utilize their eyes efficently and comfortably for schoolwork and sports. Dr. Linda Haidar provides a full range of optometric services such as vision and eye health examinations, eyeglass and contact lens services, diagnosis of eye diseases including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, and also the treatment of minor eye illnesses and injuries.

Jane Blase, Office Manager

Jane is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and Bloomsburg State University. She holds an MA in Speech Pathology and has an extensive background in speech, hearing and vision testing. Jane is a member of the American Speech and Hearing Association. Jane will help you through the whole examination process, from the moment you walk in the door, through the pretesting, down to the framestyling. Jane's number one priority is customer satisfaction. Over the years, Jane has developed a warm family atmosphere in our office and keeps this environment as family oriented as possible, from employees to our patients. Any comments concerning our office-both positive or negative should be discussed with Jane. Her motto is "We can't fix a problem unless we know about it."

Irene Rodriguez, Medical Claims/Billing Specialist

With over 15 years experience in the optometric field, Irene has acquired a full array of expertise.  Specializing in medical and routine vision care claims, Irene will file your insurance claims efficently and accurately and in a timely manner. Irene is also responsible for ordering all contact lenses making sure that the doctor's prescription is filled accurately. Irene enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grand-daughter Mia. Please contact Irene about any insurance or billing questions you may have.

Liz Hernandez, Optician/Insurance Specialist

Liz has been in the optical profession for over 25 years. Liz is exceptionally knowledgeable, helpful, courteous,  and friendly with all our patients.  Along with vast optical experience, Liz also specializes in assessing Insurance benefits for our patients. From frame styling to educating first time contact lens wearers, Liz can prove helpful to anyone.Liz is the frame buyer for Crossroads Vision Care and will be glad to custom order  a frame for patient approval if this service is needed. She can brighten up your day as well as confidently answer any questions you may have. Olga Lara, Receptionist/Optician

As our receptionist, Olga is friendly and outgoing. She awaits eagerly to direct you to our office for an exam or to guide you to our optical to choose your eyewear. As well as answering phone calls, setting appointments, and answering inquiries by our patients, Olga also has many years experience as an optician. She can help you decide on frame selections and ensure that your lens choices are the best possible for you. Olga acts as a liason between  the doctors and new contact lens patients. She provides contact lens training and makes sure patients understand how to use and take care of their lenses as well as giving them the proper solutions.

Joe Moraida, Ophthalmic Technician

Joe Moraida has been an ophthalmic technician for almost twenty years. He has worked for both optometrists and ophthalmologists throughout the San Antonio area. Mr. Joe, as he is affectionately called by patients, is responsible for doing all optometric  and medical pre-tests that each patient requires. Joe has extensive experience with contact lenses and diseases of the eye and can answer many questions for our patients. Joe is a devoted single dad to his 13 year old daughter and enjoys coaching her soccor team. Joe is an avid Spurs and Houston Texan fan. Jesse Arocha, Head Optician

Jesse has been an optician for over 30 years and has been with Crossroads Vision Care for the past three years. Jesse is the most knowledgable optician and makes sure he keeps up with the latest technology in both frames and lenses. Jesse is responsible for both ordering and edging all eyeglasses as well as verifying all prescriptions to ensure the eyeglasses are made exactly to the doctor's Rx. Jesse is a master frame stylist and gives each patient as much time as needed to choose the best look and fit possible. Jesse is an active church member and both plays and coaches baseball in his spare time. Jesse is devoted to his family and spends much of his time taking care of his parents.
